Carla Bruni — More Than a Pretty Face

What: Demure Diplomacy by Elaine Sciolino
Where: Fashion & Style Section, New York Times

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is in the news again. This article by Elaine Sciolino offers up details of her charity work as of late accompanied by some juicy quotes and lovely images.

Carla is great for many reasons. She doesn’t apologize for who she is. She can change things about herself when or if she needs to, but never seems to lose her true self in those changes. She’s incredibly candid: “I don’t think he would have had such a wonderful, fantastic career with me at his side,” she says in this article in response to what it would have been like if she’d met Sarkozy earlier. She’s been through challenges in her personal life. She wears ballet flats almost as much as I do. And she wants to ”do something useful” and help people. What’s not to like?
