It has been announced today that Ellen DeGeneres will be the face of a new beauty line called Simply Ageless, a partnership between CoverGirl and Olay, both Procter & Gamble brands. DeGeneres will begin appearing on the CoverGirl website this month and in television ads starting in the new year.
This move by CoverGirl is being compared to the decision that Dove has already made to use more everyday looking women instead of models in their advertisements. I suppose both have made similar decisions in terms of not using traditional fashion models; however, they differ in that CoverGirl has chosen a celebrity.
